Monday 13th December
Yesterday we made the trip to the NEC for LKA under judge, Jenny Miller. Not a bad day to finish our year, with Toash gaining a third in Post Grad Dog and Kaila a second in Post Grad Bitch.
Sunday 12th December
Lovely critiques from GBOS...!!! Toash: 'This dog filled my eye. Not overdone or underdone, just a typical honest springer. Super head and kind eye. Neck flows well into the very best of shoulders. Excellent depth of ribbing. Good front and feet. A well balanced body with excellent hindquarters. His free movement was a dream to watch and he was presented in Tip Top condition. Well deserved RCC.'
Kaila: 'Feminine head of good proportions. Super, kind dark eye. Excels in shoulders, ribbing and body shape. Good front legs and feet with well angulated quarters. Her movement was a dream to watch, so sound.'
Saturday 13th November
Another great show for us at Gundog Breeds Of Scotland under judge, Jane Cule. Toash won another Post Graduate class and in the challenge was awarded the RESERVE DOG CC!!! We are so proud of the achievements of our youngsters! Kaila also won her Post Graduate Bitch class. A lovely day!!!
Sunday 7th November
A good day at the MESSS Champ Show where both Toash and Kyle won their respective classes. Unfortunately, Kaila went lame for her class so couldn't compete. However, thrilled to receive a wonderful critique for her from Kelly Jenkinson as follows: 'a striking l/w who caught my eye when entering the ring. Stood she is pretty as a picture. On closer examination she is full of breed type. Her quality feminine head is just my cup of tea, full of work and melting expression. Excellent reach of neck and well made forehand and rear angulations. Deep chest, lovely spring of ribs, well developed body. Excellently presented and turned out, moved effortlessly around the ring with true Springer gait, forelegs swinging from the shoulder and driving with the rear. Pushed hard for top honours today, pleased to award her RCC'.
Sunday 19th September
Wow!! What a wonderful day at Darlington Champ Show! Kaila has won her first RCC under judge, Kelly Jenkinson after being placed 1st in a lovely Post Graduate class!!! This will be a day we will remember for a long time to come. Kaila's brother, Kyle was VHC in Post Grad dog.
Wednesday 8th September

Tuesday 31st August
Two shows to tell you about ... first on Sunday 22nd August we went all the way to Builith Wells for WKC and the opinion of judge, Wendy Minshull. Toash was VHC in Post Grad dog and Kaila was 2nd in Post Grad bitch. This Saturday just gone was SKC with judge Robin Sadler. It was a much better day with Toash winning Post Grad dog and Kaila finishing second again in Post Grad bitch. It was also an opportunity for me to handle Kyle's daughter Misty (Berkenbar Mystique) who finished second in Puppy Bitch.
Wednesday 11th August
On Saturday it was off to National Gundog at Malvern under judge Lynda Lillie (Freeway). Another very reasonable day - where Kyle finished second in Graduate, Toash 4th in Post Grad and Kaila won Graduate Bitch. A new photo of Kaila has been added to her page.
Monday 26th July
Yesterday we came down for the Leeds Championship Show for the opinion of Marion Morgan (Ketsby). Not a bad day at all, with all three of our dogs getting in the cards. Kyle was awarded a second in Graduate Dog, Toash, a third in Post Graduate Dog and Kaila a 4th in Graduate Bitch.
Sunday 18th July
Kyle attended the Fife Kennel Association Open Show today under judge Mr R Pollock (Pollham) and came away wtih Group 3, just about managing to hold it all together and keep four feet on the ground!!
Friday 16th July
Today it is the second birthday of our first litter. Time has certainly flown by! Hope you all have a good day with lots of goodies!!
Wednesday 14th July
This past weekend, we took a long drive down to Peterborough for East of England, under Lyn Gregory. Kyle was second in Graduate and Toash, VHC in Post Graduate.
Monday 28th June
We have attended a couple of champ shows since our last update. Border Union on 20th June and Blackpool on the Saturday just gone. Both reasonable days for us. Kyle won Novice Dog and Kaila was placed VHC in a super Post Grad class at Border Union. The judge was Barbara Ganarin (Berkenbar). At Blackpool, under judge Bob Jackson (Mompesson) Kyle was VHC in Graduate Dog and Kaila was this time second, also in Graduate. Two new photos have been added to Kyle's gallery and one of Kaila on the move to hers.
Wednesday 16th June
We drove down to North Yorkshire on Sunday for the Northern English Springer Champ Show for the opinion of judge, Sally Lesley. Toash won a super Yearling Dog class, Kyle was placed 4th in Novice Dog and Kaila was unplaced in Yearling Bitch. A day of mixed fortunes.
Good news that Kyle is a father again to seven puppies, five boys and two girls.
A wonderful critique from Border Gundog for Kyle from judge, Geoff Cunliffe that just had to go on!
'I have watched this young man from a puppy and he has now grown up into a stunning liver dog who now seems to have the hang of what this showing lark is all about! Now at 22 months he ticked all the boxes for me from his lovely head, darkest of eye and kind expression right through to the tip of his well carried tail. Well angulated both front and rear without any exaggeration, deep in body and well muscled throughout. Nothing overdone in any way - moved around the ring with drive and purpose and looked as though he could really do a full days work. Just loved him and delighted to award him this class and BOB over some other really quality dogs.'
Monday 31st May
Two new photos added today, of Kyle taken at SKC last weekend. Go to Kyle's own page to view.

Friday 2nd April
New photos added today of Kaila and Toash along with a new page for their brother, Kyle (Gaolachcara Tomhlth). We hope to be showing Kyle some more in the future - please go to Our Dogs in the main menu to view. The ESSC of Scotland was not the best show for us, but it was great to see Kyle's two new babies out for the first time, Berkenbar Mackenzee (who was placed 1st in Minor Puppy Dog) and Berkenbar Mystique (who was third in Minor Puppy Bitch). Photos of both can be seen on Kyle's dedicated page and we wish them every success for the future.
Tuesday 23rd March
At the weekend, Toash secured enough points to be awarded his Show Certificate of Merit award (subject to KC confirmation) at the Clydebank & District Canine Club under judge Mr Roy Maynard (Chinnordale). We are very proud that our two youngsters have gained these awards at such a young age.
Monday 15th March
Yesterday we were at Crufts under judge Graham Rogers (Chaigmarsh). Toash was placed VHC in Yearling Dog but nothing for Kaila this time. A little bit of good news, however, that Thea's PRA Cord 1 results are back and she is clear which means that Toash, Kaila, Kyle and Kye are all hereditarily clear.
Monday 1st March
This weekend we made the very long trip down from Scotland to the Southern English Springer Spaniel Society Champ Show for the opinion of judge, Wendy Bentley (Wenark). It wasn't our best ever day sadly.... Toash was placed 4th in Yearling Dog, Kyle 3rd in Novice and Kaila placed 5th in Yearling Bitch. However, on a more positive note, Toash received a wonderful critique for his performace at Coatbridge & Airdrie - see below!
Monday 15th February
Yesterday Toash, not to be outdone by his sister won the Gundog Group at Coatbridge, Airdrie and District Canine Club. The judge was Mr. G M Burton (Reynwood).
Critique: 'This club gave me my first judging appointment in 1973, when I did the Gundog classes. At that time the Secretary was George Leckie of the famous Thornlea English Springers and it was entirely coincidental that my best gundog at this show was an outstanding example of that breed. Outstanding young liver and white dog, great head, well proportioned, good bone, terrific driving action, stood out for quality'
Monday 8th February
Fantastic news that yesterday, Kaila was awarded Top Scottish (Open) Show Dog of the Year. She also won the Top Scottish Puppy award too!!! A great start for our girl!!
Sunday 31st January.
